Using excerpts from the BBC documentary, Yasmin, we will discuss the challenges facing Muslim youth living in western cities. We will identify how Christians can make a difference in the lives of Muslims in their city. (Warning: the video contains strong language)

Pearl has lived and worked in 3 different Muslim countries over a period of 25 years. Besides raising and home-schooling her children, she has taught English and befriended many women. At present she and her husband are based in England in a city with a large percentage of Muslims.

As we prepare for the church's involvement in the 2010 Games and beyond, a key area of focus is “sustainability”. How do we address human trafficking, poverty, affordable housing and creation care? Information regarding these issues, potential projects, partnerships and grants will be presented. Three coordinators of the More than Gold (Vancouver Whistler Games Network) sustainability working group will make presentations in their area of expertise.

More Than Gold is a group of over 200 Christian leaders from business, local churches, ministry organizations and Christian colleges. Their mission is to connect, coordinate and create the Christian communities volunteer involvement for the 2010 Olympics and Paralympics.

The 2000 refugees coming every year to Vancouver continue to gain much public attention. Who are refugees, why do they arrive here and what is God's heart for these people?

Noting the lack of resources for refugee claimants in Vancouver, James and friends began a ministry to assist this group. As a result, Journey Home Community, a Christian charity, was born in 2005. James left his workplace to devote time to Journey Home where he now serves as Executive Director.

Rodger has worked at Union Gospel Mission for 15 years as an addiction counsellor and currently manages the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Programs. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with degrees from North American Baptist College, Trinity Western University and ACTS Seminary. He grew up in 4 diff- erent Mid-western states as a pastor’s son. He is married with two adult children.
